Adrienne Barbeau

Adrienne Barbeau, who is an object of teen covetousness by men of a certain age, was the special visitor at the fifth yearly Slash and Bash repulsion and Sci-Fi fiesta last weekend.

During this occasion at the Holiday Inn Holidome, Barbeau congregated admirers and brought in a couple of her offbeat movie classics, “Swamp Thing” and “Escape from New York.”

In 1972 she Barbeau received a Tony Award suggestion and succeeded to have a Theatre World Award for her representation of Pink Ladies head Betty Rizzo in the innovative cast of “Grease.”

A 1978 advertisement of the buxom Barbeau in a purple corset turned out to be a smash hit.

She has plentiful other film and TV tributes, and came back to the New York theater in 2006 to expose Judy Garland in “The Property Known as Garland” which was written by her present husband, writer Billy Van Zandt.
