Goldstein was found dead at age 36, on August 28, at his apartment in New York. A year earlier, the artist had escaped from a plane crash, which also was unhurt Travis Barker, drummer for Blink-182 and musical partner. On occasion, four people died.
“We play testing and investigation by the NYPD [police department of New York]. In our opinion, this was an accidental overdose, not suicide,” he told People magazine on Tuesday, 29 Ellen Borakove, spokeswoman Medical Institute.
The idea of suicide was raised earlier this month after rumors that the doctors found eight pills of OxyContin (recommended medicine to treat chronic pain) in the stomach and a ninth in the mouth of the musician. Authorities also have found evidence of crack near the body of Goldstein.
The problem with drugs of DJ AM was no secret – so much that he had recorded episodes to an unprecedented reality show on MTV, Gone Too Soon, which helped young people to confront addiction. In the series, Goldstein would have insured a crack pipe for the first time in 10 years. According to reports that surfaced last week, the channel is in talks with the family of the deceased to take to the air a few chapters of the program. Originally, the premiere was scheduled for October 5 – the date that, for obvious reasons, seems unlikely to succeed.
As a DJ, Goldstein sounds remixed for Madonna, Will Smith and Papa Roach, among others. He was also a member of Crazy Town, a group with influences of rock and hip hop.
