“After considering the offer from Cleveland to Jamario Moon last week, we decided not to align,” said President Pat Riley Heats.
“We refused to alignerparce us that we remain faithful to our plan does not add to earnings in our salary cap in 2010 and have reduced our line flexibility. ”
“Michael Beasley will receive significant minutes at both positions and it opens more opportunities for him to become the player that we all expect it to be. ”
“We would like to thank Jamario for his contribution to our organization and for helping us back in the playoffs last season. We wish him the best in the future. ”
Moon has been acquired by the Heat from the Toronto Raptors with Jermaine O’Neal.
A few days ago, winger Jamario Moon pledged for two years with the Cleveland Cavaliers. An interesting signing for the franchise from Ohio who had found a replacement of first choice for the “Chosen One”. But Miami could offer that deal, Moon being restricted free agent. As expected, the Heat just know it does not offer match it: Moon then joined Cleveland!
Jamario Moon had a difficult path: not drafted in 2001, he went through many minor league teams before joining the NBA in 2007 at age 27.
Pat Riley, the Heat’s president explained why he was not holding Moon, in a speech that gave interesting indications on the future of Miami.
Remember then: first, Riley seems to keep room for signing free agents in 2010, and secondly, it seems to rely on Michael Beasley.
