His profile at LinkdIn.com shows that he was chief operating officer at the Hedge Fund in New York. James was 40. James Vellanti fall off from the escalator from third floor to first floor and succumbed to death due to the wounds. Its this year’s second death from falling off this escalator. The sad incident happened at The Piers shop at Caesars.
The spokeswoman of Taubman Centers, Karen Macdonald, released an email in which she stated that the Atlantic City Police Department is investigating on the matter and that the investigation is in its early stages.
She also said that at this time it is not possible to tell what caused the fall and how did the incident happen? She also paid her condolences to the victim’s family saying, We are incredibly saddened by this event. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
Investigators have made no theory yet. Police has not made any statement yet. No one else was hurt.
James Vellanti was the second person who died of falling from this escalator. Earlier this year, Frank Gilbert Jr, also fell off the escalator. He received man head injuries and was hospitalized in the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where he died of his injuries on the same day.
