Ladies and Gentlemen The Fabulous Stains

The movie Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains released back in 1981 was directed by renowned record producer, music production manager Lou Adler and the stars included Duane Lane, Ray Winstone, Laura Dern, ex-sex pistols member Steve Jones and Paul Simonon from the band The Clash.

Film Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains shot in Canada was a story of three teenage girls who decided to form a punk rock band and getting their 15 minutes of fame before crashing, the story shows the highs and lows of teenage girls and their band their fight against the society and finally giving up on their dream due to several reasons.

The movie came at the time when punk rock music was not that popular in the society so Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains, received a very short theatrical release back in 1982. A test showing was held at Denver and Colorado which went so poor that the movie was never released country wide.

Talking about the movie Tobi Vail said that he has never seen such a practical and thoughtful movie like Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains.

It appears that the movie Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains has never enjoyed a wide release but in 1985 it was presented for theatrical view at Living Arts Theatre in Philadelphia in the same year it also made it at the Film Forum in N.Y City. Rhino Home Videos released the movie on DVD in 2008 in the same year movie Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains was presented for a brief view at Alamo Draft House, Ritz in Austin, Texas.

Most recently film Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains was aired on TCM in January, 2009.
