She began performing at the age of nine and continued to work widely on the stage, performing in over fifty plays at local and professional theaters in the Tampa Bay area. She was invited to take drama program at the University of South Florida at the age of thirteen, enduring her studies;
she worked with an acting teacher from the HB Studios for two years, and took lessons at such places as Manhattan Class Company, University of Southern California, and Howard Fine Studios.
Liz has appeared as a frequent character on nine television shows including CSI, The Tick, Maximum Bob, Brotherly Love, and All My Children for which she was chosen for a Daytime Emmy. Her hobbies are writing as she has sold two prospective show scripts to studios, scuba diving, and running.
She and her husband David Emmerichs, both are living in Los Angeles nowadays with their pets. Along with associate artist Kristin Bauer, Vassey runs a business called Neurosis to a T(ee), which designs and sells slogan-covered t-shirts for women. The slogans poke cool at female qualms and neuroses, often linking to associations.
