Mendolyn Cochran a spokesperson for North Point medium-security Prison said that the jail was on internment from early Tuesday because one group of convicted inmates have attacked and injured two others and on this Friday few prisoners started setting fire in trash cans, according to her this is how it all began.
This medium-security North point Training Center is located in a country side nearly 30 miles south of Lexington. He said that buses started the evacuation shortly after 6 a.m. but they could not promptly know that where they had to shift these inmates.
David Jude further said that the inmates accommodated at North point were nevertheless being kept early on Saturday in an outside court enclosed by prison defenders and with police forming a boundary surrounding the exterior of the facility to ensure none runaway.
Jude said that he believed a large amount of the eatable supply was lost, as canteen and the kitchen were among the buildings which were burned during the fire. Some other buildings like medical center, general purpose building and living quarters also occupied damages. Although no cop or prison employee was hurt but numerous inmates were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Jude said.
