In autumn 1940, under the code name Felix, the German High Command planned the capture of Gibraltar with the collaboration of Spain. Its purpose was not to take a simple goal but achieve the final victory in Europe, taking the rock and thus cutting the supply routes that linked Britain with its empire. Fearing this possibility Churchill British garrison strengthened while thousands of German soldiers, belonging to its most elite units, they became concentrated in France to carry out.
Soon it will be the sixtieth anniversary of the launching of an operation that could have changed the course of World War II and, consequently, the world as we know it.
Ideas that fueled this plan? Was it really possible to take the Rock? What role did Spain? Because it took place? Questions you’ll find the answer in a sixty-minute documentary filmed in four countries and sustained thousands of original documents and interviews with the protagonists of the events: including politicians, the British military, members of the garrison of Gibraltar or veterans of the Wehrmacht . The script is illustrated with film, largely unpublished, from the major European archives as well as through historical reconstructions of high quality.
This allows you to break in a pleasant and attractive, an exciting and crucial chapter of history from a surprising and novel approach. Produced by Gold Productions Studios, the British Martin Nuza from the work of the historian, author Alfonso squadron also the script, soundtrack of Ernest H. Slade and a worldwide distribution of the German STUDIO L of Munich, this documentary is presented as the flagship of a new line started by Gold Productions Studios.
Already completed most of the filming in Spain, Germany, France and next January 19 will be held in collaboration with the government of Gibraltar, Gibraltar filming at various reconstructions, in different locations and within the tunnels of the Rock by a group of reen actors and specialists. Gold Productions Studios wishes to thank all who have facilitated the filming in Gibraltar gathering these specialists for an exhibition open to the public to be held the morning of January 20 at noon in Casemates Square.
