Rudy Ruettiger

Known with reference to the motion pictures and a famous football player, Rudy Reuttiger (Daniel Eugene) was born on August 23, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois. An inspiring speaker, former footballer Rudy Reuttiger is known by his nickname Rudy. As he belong to a lower-middle class, Rudy got his early education from Joliet Catholic High School and played football there under the supervision of well-known coach Gordie Gillespie.

After a long struggle, Ruettiger was successful to get place in Notre Dame Scout team which was known as a practice-squad that helped the university team to play games. Rudy’s struggles became fruitful to join Notre Dame Scout team and he played with very enthusiasm, energy, and motivation for this team and proved himself as one of the best football players across the states.

The team coach Mery Johnson proved very helpful for Rudy to get an important position in the team. In 1975, Dan Devine assumed the responsibilities of Notre Dame Coach, Divine put Ruettiger into the game as defensive end while playing against Georgia Tech. He

is one of two players of his team who ever to be carried off the field by his teammates.

October 14, 2005 was the day when Ruettiger became the master at Notre Dame Football pep rally. He was initiated into the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the National Convention in San Antonio, Texas in July 2009.
